Automatic Alerts and Information Broadcasts from MAXIMO
dbNews™ and MAXIMO® Workflow
MAXIMO Workflow Overview
Workflow is an optional module from MRO that is tightly coupled
with MAXIMO to control certain
defined processes within the application itself. While Workflow
can send notification messages about
those processes within its scope, its purpose is to control specific
events within MAXIMO in order to
improve the speed and efficiency of a business process. Workflow
is limited in scope to MAXIMO and
defined MAXIMO users.
dbNews Overview
dbNews focuses on near real-time monitoring and alerting of business
events and transactions as
they occur. It does not control transaction flows with a system;
rather, it is a broad, all-purpose
communication platform that can automatically report on any events
such as status changes or new
data within an enterprise system. dbNews also provides intelligent
recipient identification to
dynamically determine who needs to receive a news alert and powerful
data transformation
capabilities enabling it to deliver rich, tailored, and web-enabled
content for a wide array of
communication scenarios. dbNews works with data from any supported
data source and can
automate the flow of information to any recipient, even if the
recipients are not predefined. dbNews
can be deployed as complementary to MAXIMO Workflow, allowing
organizations to extend the reach
of MAXIMO, keep MAXIMO users informed with more comprehensive
information, and improve
productivity and communication for employees, customers, vendors,
or business partners who are not MAXIMO users.
